FindMyPast

FindMyPast lets you search original documents to trace your family tree.

What is FindMyPast?

FindMyPast is an online genealogy service which makes many original historical documents available to search, so you can explore a collection of records and historical newspapers to find your ancestors and trace your family tree.

Using this database can help you to research birth, marriage and death records for England and Wales, UK census data, electoral rolls, British newspapers, British military records, Irish records and emigration records.

FindMyPast also gives access to the 1939 Register, which gives a snapshot of the civilian population of England and Wales at the outbreak of the Second World War.

FindMyPast is available in all Glasgow Libraries with your library card.
