What records can I find in the Mitchell: Glasgow City Archives
The records of Glasgow Corporation include:
Reports on the City Guard containing lists of guards, 1790- 1791 (D-TC12/2)
Register of Glasgow Militia certificates and orders of aliment for wives, 1810, 1813-1816 (D-TC12/1)
Muster rolls of militia and yeomanry (volunteer forces) are often found among the family papers of the leaders of these troops. The City Archives hold many collections of these family and estate papers, which include a small number of these records. You should check with the archives to see whether there are any of interest to you.
