What records can I find in the Mitchell: Gla​sgow City Archives?

Glasgow City Archives holds record books from the police city mortuary dating from May 1935 to January 2012.


The record books include details such as:

  • name of the deceased
  • age
  • occupation (occasionally)
  • address
  • cause of death
  • name of examining surgeon


The record books do not include post mortem reports.

 

Due to the sensitive nature of these records advance permission for access is required. For more details please contact the archivists.
