Northern Irish Civil Registration Records Now Available Online

Fantastic news for those with family connections in the north of Ireland: the General Register Office Northern Ireland (GRONI) has made birth, death and marriage certificates for the six counties of Antrim, Armagh, Derry, Down, Fermanagh and Tyrone available online. This move will revolutionise genealogical research for those of us with Irish ancestry, and is set to open up the records in the same way that ScotlandsPeople has for Scottish resources.

You can now access birth records over 100 years old, marriage records over 75 years old and death records over 50 years old from your own home.

The records can be searched and viewed on a pay-per-view basis through the GRONI site, at: https://geni.nidirect.gov.uk/
